Ben ik nou degene die zo slim is, of ben jij nou zo dom?

No sooner did we get France, Germany and Spain sorted and the Netherlands had to throw a monkey wrench in things. Ama has a work around already and here is what you need to know if you depart in the next days or weeks

The Netherlands (Entry Airport: Amsterdam)

Early morning September 3rd, the Netherlands’ government placed the United States in a category of countries that may have to quarantine upon arrival. At this time, our sailings have not been suspended and will still operate with modifications to the itinerary.

Please note, for travel to the Netherlands, you now need one of the following:

A negative PCR test result collected no more than 48 hours before departure to the Netherlands

OR

A negative antigen test result collected no more than 24 hours before departure to the Netherlands

This applies if you are traveling:

By plane

By ferry or ship (including sea and river cruise)

By vehicle

By international train or coach

We will also be providing all guests with a support letter via email. You must have one of the above documents, your original CDC proof of vaccination (or equivalent), and your cruise and flight itineraries all printed out and ready to share as you arrive at the airport.

Starting September 6th, you will also be required to complete a Quarantine Declaration Form: https://quarantinedeclaration.government.nl/en/verklaring/reisgegevens. You will need to tick the box that says “I fall into one of the exemption categories”.

In accordance with the new regulations, for the month of September, we have also adjusted our itineraries. The modified itineraries will still provide an opportunity for guests to visit Amsterdam.

WHAT AMA IS DOING

If you are arriving in Amsterdam the same day as your cruise departs in September from Amsterdam, Netherlands, you must have proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours prior to departure from the US.

Please note: your flights must arrive in Amsterdam prior to 3:30 pm local time to ensure adequate transfer time to the ship.

If you have reserved AmaWaterways’ pre-cruise land package in the Netherlands in September, Ama will be in touch with you shortly as we have modified this package and will be transferring you to Antwerp, Belgium, for your hotel stay and excursions.

If you have independent travel arrangements taking place in the Netherlands in September prior to or following your river cruise, we strongly encourage you to reschedule these arrangements to avoid the mandatory 10-day quarantine period in the Netherlands.

Please note that all guests traveling in September impacted by these new regulations will be contacted shortly by your travel advisor or by AmaWaterways.

If your embarkation date is in or after October, please note this is a rapidly changing situation which may change again. We encourage you to check back here for updates and please know that we will be in contact with you shortly as we are prioritizing September departures at this time.

Should you have any questions, please call our dedicated helpline for the Netherlands’ entry requirements:
